What will this loan actually cost?
Most calculators quote a payment and quietly skip the guaranty fee and the fact that your rate resets every quarter. Both change the answer.

Common questions
What fees come with an SBA 7(a) loan?
The main one is the SBA guaranty fee — a percentage of the guaranteed portion that scales with loan size and term — plus the lender’s packaging and closing costs. These can usually be financed into the loan rather than paid up front.
How much does the interest rate change my total cost?
A great deal over a 10-year term (the median 7(a) term). On a $500,000 loan, two points of rate is roughly $60,000 in extra interest. Check whether your quote is fair.
What is the typical SBA loan term?
The median 7(a) term is 10 years. Working-capital loans run shorter; loans secured by real estate run up to 25 years, which lowers the payment but raises total interest.
